| Job WISH LIST and recent reflections.
THE RECENT CALENDAR
Hope
you are well. Since August I have been seriously considering what job
is next. Aside from odd jobs, I've volunteered much of my time to
serve the underprivileged and intercede for others in focused prayer.
Another significant portion of my time has been given to developing a
heart of worship, especially through the art form of dance. Outside of
developing meaningful relationships with family, friends, and new
people, I've considered how God may involve me in aspects of the
Chinese American church, especially to advocate for outreach, worship,
young people, and women ministries.
PS - I am looking for a roommate.
THINGS THAT MAKE ME ME
There
is evidence that God has invested the following gifts in me: faith,
mercy/compassion, shepherding, discernment, evangelism. As well as
these interests: welcoming/greeting, public speaking,
creative/artistic expression, worship leading (singing, songwriting,
worshipful movement), mentoring/coaching, guiding/developing.
Often
I find myself naturally connecting people with one another for the
purpose of deepening/broadening their experiences and increasing their
appreciation of God.
The motivation that drives me to action in
every area of my life is to physically have a shaping influence in the
world. My desire for creative expression comes through everything I
do. Able to visualize what I want someone to feel (or something to
look like) in the end, I'm working toward a result that makes a
significant impact.
THE WISHLIST
The above is the result
of research I have collected to articulate key elements of who I am and
what I offer to my field of work. What I ask is for the Lord to bring me to a job that fits me best (or at least 85% of it is enjoyable/personally fulfilling).
Additional qualities I am asking Him for include: a paid position involving passions and skills I like to use, environments and ease in bringing salvation (through Jesus) to people, mutually enjoyable coworkers, ethically moral mentors, role models, and high quality managers, realistic expectations, and accomplish-able goals within a 40-45 hour workweek.
Too good to be true? I am hoping He will do immeasurably more than I dare ask or imagine. Why?
Because God wants to glorify Himself, I strongly desire to bring glory
to God with my life, daily worshiping Him, and bringing people closer
to Jesus through my responses to Him.

Wei Liew, serving with Asian American Campus Ministry at the Univ. of Texas at Austin Aug-Oct 2005
IN THE FIRST 60 DAYS God has been truly faithful to me! This prayer update brings you to AUSTIN, TEXAS where you will find a brief description highlighting some of my work activities, specific ways God has answered your prayers, and dreams to join me in praying for. Personally, adjusting to the city has been challenging since nearly all my friends have moved out of Austin. However, I am grateful for my three roommates. I’m also continuing to stay close to the Lord in this transition. Even though I’m still searching for a church home and authentic community to be a part of, I’m glad to be where I’m supposed to be.
